Bangkok has 39 starred restaurants in the MICHELIN Guide Thailand 2026: Sorn and Sühring with three stars, eight with two stars and 29 with one. If you only book one, take Sorn for Thai food or Sühring for European cooking.
Every name below is from Michelin’s own 2026 list, announced on 27 November 2025, and was shown on the Michelin Guide’s Bangkok pages on 6 November 2026. A new edition can change the list, so check before you go.

What changed in the 2026 edition
The edition added ten new star entries in Thailand, all of them in Bangkok:
- Sühring moved from two stars to three.
- Anne-Sophie Pic at Le Normandie and INDDEE moved from one star to two.
- Bo.lan, Cannubi by Umberto Bombana and etcha entered with one star.
- Gaggan, Juksunchae, Nusara and Sushi Saito were promoted to one star from the MICHELIN Selected list.
- GOAT received a Green Star. Baan Tepa and Haoma, in Bangkok, already held one.
Michelin also named Margo in Bangkok its Opening of the Year and gave David Thompson of Aksorn its Mentor Chef Award.
Which one to book
One big blowout. Sorn or Sühring. Both sit in Michelin’s top price band and need planning. Sühring opens Wednesday to Sunday and offers lunch from Thursday. Sorn closes on Saturday.
Classic French at a grand hotel. Anne-Sophie Pic at Le Normandie. It pairs naturally with a stay on the river, and our where to stay guide covers that area.
A meal with height. Mezzaluna or Chef’s Table at Lebua, on floors 65 and 61. Follow with a drink from our rooftop bars list.
Thai at the top. Sorn, R-Haan or Baan Tepa. See the Thai restaurants guide for who each suits.
A star at lower cost. Saneh Jaan on Wireless Road carries Michelin’s ฿฿ band and serves lunch and dinner daily. Aksorn in Bang Rak carries ฿฿฿ and serves shared main courses.
Street food with a star. Jay Fai at 327 Maha Chai Road. Crab omelettes and noodle dishes lead the menu. It opens Wednesday to Saturday, 09:00 to 19:30, is cash only, and Michelin warns of a queue. The crab omelette had a 1,500 baht menu price in August 2025, when a higher 4,000 baht option became a news story and the shop was told to add it to the menu. Confirm which version you order. Our street food guide covers the rest of that scene.
Reading the stars well
Stars measure cooking, not fun. A Michelin star does not promise a view, a late night or a relaxed table. Asia’s 50 Best, a separate list, often disagrees with Michelin, and we compare both in the best restaurants in Bangkok.
Most starred Bangkok restaurants close one or two nights a week, often Monday or Tuesday. Many take bookings directly, not through Michelin, and Samrub Samrub Thai takes them only through social media. Book directly, and check the current hours on the restaurant’s own page.
