For serious coffee in Bangkok, start with NANA Coffee Roasters in Ari, La Cabra in Talad Noi, or Roots at theCOMMONS in Thonglor. For a pretty stop in a day of sightseeing, Song Wat and Talad Noi give you the most character per block.

No award settles the question here. The only Thai entry among the 14 Asian cafes on the World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops 2026, reported by Time Out, is Fika & Co. Cafe at No. 61, and the report does not name its city. So these picks rest on official pages, a Michelin Guide neighbourhood article from July 2026 and The Way to Coffee’s guide, updated in May 2026. Cafes change hours often, so check before you go.

For the coffee itself

NANA Coffee Roasters lists five locations on its own site, including its Ari shop at 24/2 Ari 4 Alley. The site also displays a Siphon World Champion title from 2018, plus Thailand National Barista Champion 2019 and Thailand National Brewer Cup Champion 2020. Pick Ari if you want other cafes close by, since The Way to Coffee lists several there.

La Cabra is a Danish roaster, and its Talad Noi shop at 813 Charoen Krung Road is its first location in Thailand and its first outside Denmark. Its site lists 08:00 to 17:00 daily. The fit-out is spare and tiled, so it suits people who care how the room looks. It does not take reservations.

La Cabra Bakery at Silom Road Soi 3 is the pastry-led sister shop. Its site lists 07:30 to 17:30 on weekdays and 07:30 to 17:00 at weekends. An easy stop from a Silom or Sathorn hotel.

Roots runs its brew bar in theCOMMONS on Thonglor 17, and theCOMMONS lists it among its Thonglor vendors. That complex lists 08:00 to 01:00, though Roots itself may keep shorter hours. Pick it if you also want food and a crowd around you.

Factory Coffee at 35/18 Phayathai Road is, according to The Way to Coffee, run by a Thai Barista Champion, roasts its own coffee and serves signature drinks. It sits next to the Airport Link station, which makes it a useful first or last stop in the city.

Onibus Coffee at 22 Soi Samran Rat is the Tokyo roaster’s first shop outside Japan, per The Way to Coffee. It serves light-roast coffee as pour-over and espresso, and it is in Phra Nakhon, the Old Town district.

Ceresia Coffee Roasters on Sukhumvit Soi 33/1 is known for single origins, with a window onto the roasting area. Confirm the address, since listings conflict.

In Song Wat and Talad Noi

These two neighbouring areas in the old Chinese quarter combine the best streets with good coffee. A Michelin Guide article from July 2026 names Terrior.bkk, which The Way to Coffee spells Terroir.BKK and places at 1218 Song Wat Road, for pour-overs with rotating beans. The founder works directly with northern Thai growers, according to The Way to Coffee.

The same Michelin piece names Song Wat Coffee Roasters next to the Lao Pun Tao Kong Shrine, known for an iced dirty coffee, Local Boys Coffee, Tay Song Wat, Arteasia Desserts & Cafe for afternoon tea and desserts with Thai ingredients, and FV, a cafe in a traditional Thai wooden pavilion with fruit-based desserts such as guava som tam.

In Talad Noi, Mother Roaster at 1172 Soi Chareonkrung 22 is known for a good bean selection and drip coffee, according to The Way to Coffee. The Tourism Authority of Thailand describes Talat Noi as an old riverside Chinese community with street art, so allow time to walk it. It pairs well with Chinatown and our street food guide.

For working or breakfast

Brave Roasters on the third floor of Siam Discovery is described by The Way to Coffee as a quiet place for a laptop, useful if you are shopping nearby. Sarnies, at Charoen Krung 44 and with a roastery on Soi Ton Son, is on the same guide’s list. Its opening hours vary across listings, so check before you go.

Afternoon tea, the luxury version

If a cafe stop should feel like an occasion, The Authors’ Lounge at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok is the classic. The autumn tea runs from 1 September to 30 November 2026 at THB 1,980++ per person, or THB 2,680++ with a glass of Champagne. The “++” means service charge and tax are added. Book through the hotel, on +66 2 659 9000. It suits a slow afternoon on the river, before a Chao Phraya dinner cruise or a stay at one of the riverside hotels.

How to choose

Pick by neighbourhood, not by reputation. Bangkok traffic makes a crossing for coffee alone a poor trade, so choose what is close to your day. Serious coffee drinkers should build a morning around Ari or Talad Noi. Everyone else should choose Song Wat, where the streets do half the work. For dinner plans after, see the best restaurants in Bangkok. For more ideas, see the list.
