No cookies, no ads

This website sets no cookies and shows no ads. Our tools calculate in your browser and your inputs do not leave your device.

Hosting

The website is delivered by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Cloudflare processes technically necessary data such as IP address, time and requested page to deliver and protect the site (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Visitor statistics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and builds no profiles. It records the page, the page you came from, browser and device type, country and load time. We only see aggregated numbers (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). You can object by blocking scripts from static.cloudflareinsights.com.

The guide and our emails

When you request the guide, we store your email address, the time, your IP address, the page where you signed up, the site you came from and campaign details from the page address. We send you the guide and then, from time to time, the best of Bangkok and Thailand, including recommendations and offers from us and from partners. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You can withdraw at any time through the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to us. We then delete your data, unless we must keep proof of your earlier consent.

We measure whether emails are opened and which links are clicked. Links in emails briefly pass through our email system.

The data is stored in our own email system on a server in Germany (Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen). Emails are sent through Amazon Simple Email Service in Frankfurt (Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, 38 Avenue John F. Kennedy, L-1855 Luxembourg). We have data processing agreements with both.

Contact by email

If you write to us, we process your details to answer you (Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR) and delete them when no longer needed.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR), and you may complain to a supervisory authority, for example the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen.
