The best restaurants in Bangkok by current awards are Sühring and Sorn, the only two with three Michelin stars, and Gaggan, the city’s highest entry on Asia’s 50 Best at No. 3. Book Sühring for German precision, Sorn for Southern Thai seafood, and Gaggan if you want a meal that doubles as a show.

Michelin facts come from the MICHELIN Guide Thailand 2026, announced on 27 November 2025. Rankings come from the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 list. Every restaurant here appeared on its Michelin page on 6 November 2026 with no closure notice. This page does not rest on first-hand visits. It shows what the two lists say and what follows from that.

How the two lists compare

Restaurant Cuisine Michelin 2026 Asia’s 50 Best 2026
Gaggan Progressive Indian 1 star No. 3
Nusara Thai contemporary 1 star No. 5
Sorn Southern Thai 3 stars No. 12
Sühring Contemporary German 3 stars No. 18
Potong Thai-Chinese, innovative 1 star No. 25
Ms.Maria & Mr.Singh Mexican-Indian No star No. 27
Baan Tepa Thai contemporary 2 stars No. 53
Côte by Mauro Colagreco Riviera-inspired modern 2 stars No. 91
Gaa Contemporary Indian 2 stars No. 95

The two lists often disagree, and that is useful. A place that scores high on both, like Sorn, is the safest big booking. The 50 Best top 10 also includes a second Gaggan address: Gaggan at Louis Vuitton is No. 8.

The two three-star tables

Sühring is at 10 Soi Yen Akat 3 in Yan Nawa. The modern German tasting menu draws on family recipes and traditional preservation such as fermenting, pickling and curing. It moved from two stars to three in the 2026 edition. Lunch runs Thursday to Sunday, dinner Wednesday to Sunday. Pick it if you want the top-rated European cooking in the city.

Sorn at 56 Soi Sukhumvit 26 is the Thai answer. Seafood and Southern ingredients lead, and it takes bookings through its own site. Our Thai restaurants guide covers it and its Thai peers in more depth.

If you want the show

Gaggan at 68 Soi Sukhumvit 31 serves progressive Indian food as an interactive performance, with counter seating. It opens Thursday to Monday from 17:00. Michelin gave it one star in 2026, which is modest next to its 50 Best rank. Go if the theatre appeals. Skip it if you want a quiet dinner for two.

Ms.Maria & Mr.Singh shares the same street address, on the second floor, and mixes Mexican and Indian flavours in dishes such as pork vindaloo tacos. It has no star on Michelin’s listing, sits at a lower price band and ranks No. 27 in Asia. It closes on Wednesday.

French and Mediterranean, with hotel polish

Anne-Sophie Pic at Le Normandie on the fifth floor of Mandarin Oriental was promoted to two stars in 2026. Contemporary French cooking, a lobster dish Michelin singles out, and a tasting menu called Voyage. Lunch and dinner run Wednesday to Sunday. This suits a classic grand-hotel meal better than anything else on this page.

Côte by Mauro Colagreco at Capella Bangkok holds two stars for Riviera-inspired cooking, with menus that change every few months. Lunch and dinner run Wednesday to Sunday.

Mezzaluna and Chef’s Table both sit in the Tower Club at Lebua, 1055 Silom Road, on floors 65 and 61, and both hold two stars. Mezzaluna runs a seasonal seven-course menu shaped by a Japanese chef’s background. Chef’s Table has an open kitchen and a cheese trolley. Pick these for height. For a drink in the same part of town, see our rooftop bars guide.

Indian at two stars

Bangkok is a strong city for modern Indian food. Gaa at 46/1 Sukhumvit 53 is led by Garima Arora and builds Indian-inspired dishes from seasonal Thai ingredients, with weekend lunch. INDDEE at 68/1 Soi Lang Suan was promoted to two stars in 2026 for a set menu of about 10 dishes, each tied to a region of India. It opens daily from 17:30.

Old-city character

Potong at 422 Vanich 1 Road occupies a former Chinese herbal medicine shop in Samphanthawong, according to Michelin. The tasting menu is built around the chef’s Thai-Chinese heritage. It closes on Wednesday. Pair it with an afternoon in Chinatown before dinner. Nusara on Maha Rat Road adds rooftop views of Wat Pho.

Where to book when you want less ceremony

Not every night needs a tasting menu. Aksorn in Bang Rak has one star and serves mid-century Thai recipes as shared main courses. Saneh Jaan on Wireless Road also has one star, with Michelin’s ฿฿ price band and both lunch and dinner daily. Bib Gourmand picks are in the Thai restaurants guide and the street food guide.

Before you book

Use the restaurant’s own booking route. Michelin notes that Sorn, Gaa, Gaggan and others handle reservations directly. Many of these places close on Monday or Tuesday, so check your dates first. Hours and menus change, so check before you go.

The hotels named above are easy bases. See where to stay in Bangkok if you want to plan around a restaurant. The full star list is on our Michelin restaurants page. For more than food, see the list.
