Muay Thai in Bangkok: where to watch and where to train
Updated 6 November 2026

Watch at Rajadamnern Stadium if you only do one fight night: it is in the old town, runs almost every night and has the seats visitors want. Go to Lumpinee on a Friday only if you want ONE Lumpinee itself, and train at a fitness-led gym for around 500 baht a session.
Details below come from the stadium and gym sites plus the guides listed here, not first-hand visits. Prices change often, so check before you pay.

Watching at Rajadamnern Stadium
The stadium opened in 1945 and describes itself as the world’s first Muay Thai stadium. It seats about 3,500 people around the ring, with a live orchestra, the Wai Kru ritual before fights and a dome projection on the sport’s history that the site says starts at 8:10pm.
The weekly schedule, from the official site in November 2026:
| Day | Card | Gates |
|---|---|---|
| Monday, Tuesday, Friday | Rajadamnern Knockout | 6pm |
| Wednesday | Palangmai | 5pm |
| Thursday | Petchyindee | 5pm |
| Saturday | Rajadamnern World Series (RWS) | 6pm |
| Sunday | Kiatpetch | 5pm |
Gates are not first bouts. Guides list start times from 15 minutes to over an hour later, and they disagree, so check your ticket. Saturday is the headline night, and the stadium warns that RWS can sell out.
Seats and tickets. The official site does not publish prices on its seat page, so treat these figures from Muay Thai Stadiums, August 2026, as a guide. Singha Ringside is listed at 2,500 baht and Club Class at 1,800 baht. Balcony seats in the VIP Lounge range higher. Buy on the stadium’s site, which sells through Ticketmelon, or at the ticket office from 3pm. Third-party sellers tend to cost more.
Pick ringside if you want to hear the corners and feel the pace. Pick Club Class for a full view and easy access to food and drinks. For the top of the range, the VIP Lounge has balcony seats and a private bar, and on RWS nights just 15 Superior Panoramic Balcony seats are sold. The 2nd Class section is a local crowd with public betting, which is lively but not for everyone. There is no age limit.
Getting there. The stadium is about 2 km from MRT Sam Yot, so take a taxi or Grab. Taxis are hard to find afterwards, so book a Grab. It pairs well with an early dinner in the old town. See getting around Bangkok.
Watching at Lumpinee Stadium
Lumpinee is not at Lumphini Park. It moved from Rama IV Road to Ram Inthra Road in February 2014, and the Royal Thai Army runs it. Check the name carefully when you book a car.
ONE Lumpinee, also sold as ONE Friday Fights, is the Friday card. Guides list a 6:30pm or 7:30pm start, so confirm it on the ticket. Muay Thai Stadiums lists:
| Seating | Price |
|---|---|
| Zones A, D, E | 1,200 baht |
| Zones B and C, lower | 2,000 baht |
| Zones B and C, upper | 2,500 baht |
| Ringside | 3,000 baht |
Buy on ThaiTicketMajor or at the stadium window. Lower-priced local cards also run at weekends, sold at the window, but guides disagree on their days. Do not plan a trip around them without checking.
Getting there. Take the MRT Pink Line to Ram Inthra 3, about a five minute walk. It is a long ride from the river and Sukhumvit, so allow time. If your hotel is central, Rajadamnern is the simpler evening.
Training at a gym
Choose by purpose. Fitness gyms suit almost every visitor. Fight gyms have a harder, more repetitive culture and are for people staying longer. Thailand Starter Kit says gloves and wraps are often loaned for a first class. Ask when you book.
| Gym | Area | Single session | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Khongsittha | 23 Sukhonthasawat Road, Ladprao | 500 baht drop-in | Beginners, one-day visitors |
| Luktupfah | On Nut Road, Prawet | 500 baht, 250 baht under 10 | All levels and ages |
| Eminent Air | Near BTS Punnawithi | 500 baht, private 1,200 baht | Technical training |
| FA Group | Mo Chit, Chatuchak | From 500 baht | Evening beginner classes |
| Master Toddy’s | Near BTS Bearing | 500 baht | Morning or afternoon sessions |
Khongsittha and Luktupfah prices come from their own sites. The others come from Thailand Starter Kit, October 2026.
One session or a single day. Khongsittha says no experience is needed and offers a walk-in class and a One Day Experience, with rooms behind the gym for longer stays. Its timetable is an image on its site, so call +66 2 932 9911 to confirm.
A few sessions. Luktupfah publishes punch cards of 10 classes for 3,500 baht and 15 classes for 5,000 baht. Thailand Starter Kit lists drop-ins Monday to Saturday, 7am to 9am and 3:30pm to 5:30pm. It is on the outskirts, so it suits a longer stay more than a short trip.
A longer stay. A visa-free stay is for tourism, so read the Thailand visa guide before you commit to weeks of training.
Train in the morning and keep your afternoon light with the best massage in Bangkok, then see where it fits in your itinerary and other things to do.
