For one mall on a short trip, go to Siam Paragon. It has the broadest luxury choice under one roof and a direct BTS link. If you want a calmer setting, pick Central Embassy, and if you want the river with your shopping, pick ICONSIAM.

The order below is based on range, access and setting as published by each mall. It is not a first-hand ranking.

Quick comparison

Mall Best for Hours Access
Siam Paragon Widest luxury choice 10:00 to 22:00 BTS Siam, Exit 3

Siam Paragon

The default choice for most visitors. Brands include Dior, Louis Vuitton and Bvlgari, plus Rolex through PMT The Hour Glass. It also holds EATELIER, a floor of restaurants and bars, and SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World, a 10,000 square metre aquarium, which makes it useful if you are travelling with children. Take BTS Siam to Exit 3.

Pick it if you want the most options in the least time. Skip it if you dislike crowds on weekends.

ICONSIAM

The destination mall. It sits on the Chao Phraya at 299 Charoen Nakhon Soi 5, and includes SookSiam, Siam Takashimaya and a water features show that runs through 31 December 2026. It is open daily from 10am to 10pm.

The mall lists a fare-paying shuttle boat, public boats and hotel boats, and getting there by water is part of the point. Check the mall’s Getting Here page for the current route, as the mall does not publish boat times on that page.

Pick it for a half day out with a meal by the river. It is less convenient if you are staying on Sukhumvit and only have a few hours.

Central Embassy

A polished address at 1031 Ploenchit Road, open from 10am to 10pm, with Open House as an anchor tenant. An InterContinental Bangkok guide describes a skywalk link to the Chit Lom BTS area and a focus on designer brands, fine dining and a deluxe cinema. Dii Wellness Med Spa is on the fourth floor. It is a strong choice for a slower afternoon of browsing and a long lunch.

Emporium and EmQuartier

These two sit together in Phrom Phong, on Sukhumvit. Emporium is at 622 Sukhumvit Road and opens daily from 10am to 10pm.

EmQuartier keeps different hours: 11am to 9pm from Monday to Thursday, and 10am to 9pm from Friday to Sunday and on public holidays. Its Gourmet Market and food hall open daily from 10am to 9pm.

Pick this pair if your hotel is on Sukhumvit and you want a well-edited selection without going into Siam.

centralwOrld

The big all-rounder at 999/9 Rama 1 Road, in the heart of Ratchaprasong, open daily from 10am to 10pm. Come here for range and everyday brands. Pick it if you are shopping for several people and several budgets. It is less suited to a calm luxury day.

One Bangkok

The new district on Wireless Road, with retail in the Parade and The Storeys zones. Exit 1 at MRT Lumphini leads to an underground walkway straight into Level B1. From BTS Ploenchit, Exit 2, a free EV shuttle runs about every 15 minutes in front of Mahatun Plaza. Store hours are in the mall’s directory. Choose it for dining and a look at the city’s newest development, or if you are staying near Lumphini Park.

Gaysorn Village

A smaller lifestyle complex in Ratchaprasong, with fashion, watches and jewellery, beauty and wellness, and fine dining. Brands listed on its site include Rabanne and Rimowa. It suits a short, targeted visit between bigger stops. Check the site for current hours.

Siam Discovery

In the same Siam cluster as Paragon, open daily from 10am to 10pm, and pitched as a creative space for trends and design. Pair it with Siam Paragon rather than making a separate trip.

Tourist discounts

The ONESIAM Global Visitor Card covers Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Siam Discovery, ICONSIAM, Siam Premium Outlets and ICS, with brand discounts, 5 percent off at select department stores and a VAT refund of up to 6 percent. Apply online before you shop. Our Bangkok shopping guide explains how to claim the refund at the airport.

Hours change around holidays, so check the mall’s site before you go.
